Arrhythmic Mitral Valve Prolapse: New Menaces of the Known Disease

چکیده
Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) has long been the subject of intense discussions regarding prognosis and follow-up tactics. In most cases, this condition a benign prognosis. However, recent autopsy studies have shown risks developing sudden cardiac death (SCD) in some subgroups patients who clinical phenomenon. The proposed literature review uses population with MVP highest probability life-threatening ventricular tachyarrhythmias. Patients presence complex changes, including bicuspid MVP, negative T waves inferior lateral leads on standard 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG), special anatomical phenomenon called mitral annular disjunction (MAD), are at high risk ectopias VSS. A reflection SCD such is increase ectopy according to Holter monitoring. MAD phenomenon, which separation line attachment posterior leaflet from basal wall segment towards atrial wall, determines form so-called arrhythmogenic MVP. Hence, cases aforementioned ar- rhythmic signs must be given particular attention annual ECG control, monitoring echocardiographic examination heart reduce tachyarrhythmias development.

Morphofunctional Abnormalities of Mitral Annulus and Arrhythmic Mitral Valve Prolapse
BACKGROUND Arrhythmic mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is characterized by myxomatous leaflets and left ventricular (LV) fibrosis of papillary muscles and inferobasal wall. We searched for morphofunctional abnormalities of the mitral valve that could explain a regional mechanical myocardial stretch. METHODS AND RESULTS Thirty-six (27 female patients; median age: 44 years) arrhythmic MVP patients w...

متن کاملMarcus-gunn phenomenon with- mitral valve prolapse
Marcus-gunn phenomenon is a congenital and sometimes hereditary anomaly, in which a ptotic eyelid retracts momentarily when the mouth is open, or the jaw is moved. These associated movements attributed to abnormal connections between the central mechanisms innervating the pterygoid and elevator muscles. Sometimes this anomaly is associated with dual,s retraction syndrome, duplex kindneys and ur...
متن کاملEffect of position on echocardiographic diagnosis of mitral valve prolapse
Echocardiography has been accepted as the diagnostic modality of choice for mitral valve prolapse (MVP). The determine the effect of position on echocardiographic diagnosis of MVP, we examined 693 consecutive patients referred to the echocardiography laboratory because of suspected MVP. First, patients were examined using the usual standard M-Mode echocardiography( left parasternal third or fou...
متن کاملDegenerative mitral valve disease with emphasis on mitral valve prolapse.
Degenerative mitral valve disease is responsible for the syndromes of billowing mitral leaflet, mitral valve prolapse (MVP), floppy mitral valve, and flail leaflet. The pathology of these is mainly caused by myxomatous infiltration and fibroelastic deficiency. In the 1960s, Reid and Barlow and colleagues proposed that mid to late systolic clicks and apical late systolic murmurs were of mitral v...
